Summary
An in-depth UX discovery was conducted to find that guests to P&O cruises pay for their vacations upfront months in advance. During the time between purchase and boarding, there's an opportunity for them to engage with the trip by planning ahead and repurchasing activities, dining packages, and essentially extending their holiday experience. I wanted the guests to start experiencing their destination ahead of boarding, while enabling the business to migrate this experience from a responsive website to a mobile app in the future without disrupting the users' learned experience of engaging with P&O. Hence, the website was designed to mimic that of an app UI. On top of that, we gamified the UI to encourage them to keep taking actions to gain points and discover "Easter Eggs" throughout the websites, Adding fun and delight to their interactions with P&O.
